Welcome to St John’s Preschool Ashfield!
We are a Christian Preschool that strives to provide each child with the highest quality education.

St John’s Preschool Ashfield is licensed to accept children from the age of 3 up to 6 years of age.
Our Preschool Educational program runs from 9am to 3pm, with flexible drop off and pick up from 8.30am to 4pm. We operate in NSW School terms.

Why Preschool?
We offer an excellent educational and care program. Our day is designed to provide a gentle introduction to what is required of children at Kindergarten. Through our play based program, your child will self-direct their learning to become a confident, involved and capable learner as they discover that learning is fun and being in a enjoyable setting can set them up for a life of skill building and a love for learning.
School Readiness
At St John’s Preschool in Ashfield we value the opportunity to help prepare children for school for up to 2 years before they start Kindergarten. Our transition to school program helps to assess and build school readiness. Our preschool specialises in preparing all children to thrive in their formal school years. All Children who attend our preschool are provided with individual programs to support and extend their learning and skill developing in a nurturing Christian environment.
Our professional Teaching staff will encourage your child to be ready physically, socially and emotionally for the experience of Kindergarten. We follow the National Early Years Framework (EYLF 2022) as our foundational curriculum to ensure your child has the absolute best opportunities to develop academically and holistically.
A study by Warren and Haisken-DeNew (2013) demonstrated that children who attend preschool who are taught by qualified educators perform significantly better on 3rd grade Naplan scores than those who didn’t. The benefits of preschool continue to be felt long after children have left the early childhood environment. Parents are encouraged to discuss any questions that they have with the Lead Educator in their child’s class room.
Parent input and feedback is encouraged and can be given to your room teachers or to our Director.
